1) Qualify Leads with Multiple-Choice Questions

Chatbots are fantastic at qualifying leads because they greet website visitors with a friendly question. The best way to qualify leads with a chatbot is to as an open-ended question like "Hello! Can the McLawyer & Attornister team do for you today?". Then give your leads some reasonable options to choose from. A useful collection might be:

  • "Yes, I need help with my case."
  • "I've just been in an accident. Can you help me?"
  • "I've just been charged with a crime. Can you help me?"
  • "I need a legal consultation"

  • "Yes, I'm here to read your blog"

2) Provide Answers to Common Questions

Many people come to legal websites to do research about their case or situation before they make any decisions. While your chatbot is no lawyer, you can 'teach' it to respond to certain keywords in user questions with standard answers or links to useful information.

3) Connect Potential Clients with a Human Assistant

Finally, your chatbot can even be used to connect website visitors who need real help to a human assistant. This can happen in one of three ways. The chatbot can fail to understand a question, then alert your real human chat support. Much like defaulting to the operator in a phone tree. Second, the chatbot can respond to common requests from the users like "Let me talk to a human" or "Can I ask a real person?"

Third, you can give the chatbot a multiple-choice option at the beginning (or a button in the interface) that will allow users to automatically ask to speak to a real human assistant. And through this, you can offer live legal advice without asking someone to monitor every single website visitor.
